Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S24 series in January, and today the Ultra version for the US market appeared on Geekbench. This phone named SM-S928U is equipped with Snapdragon 8Gen3 (codenamed Pineapple), with a CPU core configuration of 1+3+2+2.

The main core of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is clocked at 3.30GHz, which is lower than the previous generation Snapdragon flagship, but the frequencies of the other cores are more impressive - the second set of three cores is clocked at 3.15GHz, the third set of two units is clocked at 2.96GHz, and the remaining two cores are clocked at 2.27GHz.
The memory of the test phone is 8GB, which is relatively small. It will also be equipped with Android 14 system, most likely OneUI6.1. The benchmark results show that the single-core score is 2234 points and the multi-core score is 6807 points. Compared with the Galaxy S23 Ultra equipped with the Snapdragon 8th generation 2 processor, the performance of these two phones has been significantly improved by 15% and 35% respectively.
The main takeaway from the Geekbench listing is not the raw results, but that Samsung once again plans to diversify its chip supply sources. The Exynos 2400 platform will power some Galaxy S24 flagships, but it may be limited to S24 and S24+, and Ultra will fully use Snapdragon 8Gen3.
