Meta's Twitter competitor Threads is rolling out one of its most anticipated features - the edit button. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced this afternoon that Threads will roll out an edit button to all users starting today.
This option will allow users to edit the post for a short period of time after it is published. For the first five minutes, users can edit the post if they wish, but after five minutes, editing functionality will be blocked.
The feature is available on both the mobile app and the web, and some users have already taken advantage of it.
It's worth noting that the feature is free, but has stricter time limits than the Twitter version. Additionally, Threads does not display a history of edited posts, making it less obvious which posts have been edited. Instead, it only shows whether the post has been edited.
Also launching today is a new feature called Voice Topics, which allows users to attach audio clips to posts. Tom Warren demonstrated this feature, but it doesn't appear to be widely used yet (at least on Android).
