Google appears to be adding a new feature to the Play Store that will let you automatically open apps after installation. It’s worth noting that the feature will be available on the PlayStore as a manual toggle. Users of AndroidAuthority first spotted this feature back in June of this year, and now it looks like Google has finally rolled it out. The feature brings a new "Turn on Auto-Open" toggle button under the "Open" button in the app's PlayStore listing after selecting "Install."
When the toggle is enabled, its description will change to "Open automatically after installation" and PlayStore will open the app after installation is complete. Before an app reaches 100%, PlayStore will display a notification stating the remaining time before automatically opening the app.
The code associated with the function shows that there will be a 5 second timer in all cases. This will help users understand how long it takes for the app to open after the notification pops up. The feature has been spotted in Google Play Store version 42.5.15, which suggests it shouldn't take long before it becomes available to more users.
Google is developing some new features for PlayStore. Recently, there were reports that PlayStore will allow three apps to be downloaded or updated simultaneously. Previously, the feature was limited to downloading or updating two apps at the same time. However, Google has reportedly added an app that raises the limit.
Additionally, the PlayStore will soon let you update sideloaded apps. The company also recently announced that it would be ending the PlayStore app bug bounty program nearly seven years after it started.
