A spokesperson for WebSummit said that CEO and founder Paddy Cosgrave will resign as CEO and a new CEO will be appointed as soon as possible.
Cosgrave previously published an article on the social media platform
Web Summit, one of the world's largest technology conferences, will be held in Lisbon from November 13 to 16 and will include companies such as Meta and Microsoft, as well as investors such as Atomico. Israel's ambassador to Portugal issued a statement saying Israel would no longer participate in the conference after Cosgrave's "shameless remarks."
