According to details revealed in a latest Korean supply chain report, Apple's upcoming iPhone SE4 will be equipped with a 48-megapixel rear camera and a 12-megapixel front-facing TrueDepth camera.

ETNews reports that South Korea-based LG Innotek is the main supplier of front and rear camera modules for the lower-budget ~$400 device, which is expected to be launched in the first quarter of next year. Foxconn and Cowell Electronics are also said to be supplying camera components.

The current iPhone 16 uses a rear 48-megapixel wide-angle lens, which Apple calls a "hybrid" lens. The so-called "hybrid" lens is because it can be used to take both standard photos and cropped 2x zoom photos. The front camera of the iPhone 16 is also a 12-megapixel TrueDepth camera, which indicates that the fourth-generation iPhone SE may also use the same camera setup, but without an additional ultra-wide-angle camera.

It is rumored that iPhone SE4 will adopt a full-screen design similar to iPhone 14, using FaceID to replace TouchID, a 6.06-inch display, OLED display technology to replace LCD, USB-C port, iPhone 14 battery, 8GB RAM (supporting Apple Intelligence), and perhaps a multi-function operation button to replace the mute switch. iPhone SE4 is also expected to be the first device to feature an Apple-designed 5G chip.

According to reports, Apple released the existing third-generation iPhone SE on March 8, 2022, and subsequent devices are likely to be unveiled around March 2025.
