According to a Weibo post by the state-owned Xiaoxin official, at the 2023 Fengyun Meteorological Satellite International User Conference, the first set of images of the Fengyun-3 F star was officially released to the public.It is understood that the Fengyun-3F satellite is equipped with 10 remote sensing instruments, namely 2 newly developed ultraviolet hyperspectral instruments, 3 improved instruments and 5 inherited instruments.
It releases a total of four types of observation data,Including atmospheric composition observation data, imaging observation data, detection data, and earth-atmosphere system radiation budget observation data, etc.
At present, all remote sensing instruments have been started and operated, which indicates that the satellite platform and remote sensing instruments have entered steady-state work and will fully enter the on-orbit testing stage.
As a new member of the Fengyun meteorological satellite "Morning Star" family,The payload configuration and performance indicators of the F star have reached the international advanced level, and will take over the in-orbit business of the Fengyun-3C star that has been in service for nearly 10 years.
According to the China Meteorological Administration, it is expected that by around 2026, Fengyun-3 will form a constellation system consisting of two precipitation satellites (Feng-3 G and I) and five operational polar-orbiting meteorological satellites (Feng-3 D, E, F, H, J). By then, the Fengyun-3 meteorological satellite will have the ability to jointly detect precipitation with active and passive microwaves under the constellation system.
