ASUS today announced a special graphics card "DualRTX4060TiSSD", as the name suggests, it can install an SSD. This is also the world's first gaming graphics card that incorporates an SSD - AMD did this on the Radeon Pro SSG professional graphics card in 2017, with a capacity of up to 2TB.

Looking at the graphics card alone, it is not much different from the regular RTX4060Ti8GB, but it is smaller, with a 2.5-slot thickness and dual fans. The default core frequency is 2565MHz, and the overclocking mode is 2595MHz., single 8-pin power supply, three DP1.4a and one HDMI2.1a output interface.

The special thing is thatThere is an opening on the metal baffle on its back, which can install an M.22280SSD with unlimited capacity.

Compared with the early sample card, the final version of the PCB is shorter and more compact, and the position of the M.2 slot has been moved inward from the rear edge, which can shorten the signal wiring and ensure performance stability.

Why install SSD on graphics card?

In fact, Asus is not trying to add an M.2 slot becauseIt requires occupying the PCIe lane of the processor, cannot be used at the same time as the processor on the motherboard is directly connected to the M.2 slot.

The fundamental reason is to dissipate heat. Using the powerful dual fans on the graphics card, Asus claims that it can reduce the SSD temperature by up to 40%.

Interestingly, if it is on a motherboard that supports PCIe5.0,By installing this card in a PCIe5.0x16 slot, the SSD can also use the PCIe5.0 channel without losing performance.

The actual measurement uses a Yingruida T7004GB SSD. The sequential read and write speed can reach 12.4GB/s and 11.7GB/s, which is completely full, while the temperature is only 27℃!

The price has not been announced yet, but it will definitely not be cheap, and you will need to buy an SSD yourself.
