X (formerly Twitter) plans to revert to a change made earlier this year that removed headlines from articles on the platform, forcing users to open the article itself to see the headline. Elon Musk announced in a tweet earlier today that the company is considering bringing back the title. Musk noted that in a future version, X will overlay captions on top of images, allowing users to read them on the platform.
In October this year, X began to delete the titles of articles and news works on the platform. The company also removed any other information overlaid on the image to "improve the aesthetics of the site" and promote original content on the platform.
The platform has changed dramatically since Elon Musk acquired the X service late last year. The company has been working hard to add more features and changes to the service to meet the needs of Blue paying customers while making it stand out from the competition. Recently, X announced that it will allow verified paid XBlue users to hide their blue marks. The company has also made adjustments to the number of messages unverified users can send in an effort to curb spam direct messages.
Musk has also been developing new services that will be integrated into X in the future. Recently, there were reports that Musk hopes to use the knowledge he learned during his time at PayPal to build a faster financial system in X than PayPal. Earlier this month, he also demonstrated Grok, X’s generative AI chatbot.
There's no word yet on when the two new services will be available to the public, but rumors suggest Musk will make Grok available to a limited number of users.
