IGN's 11-minute live gameplay of "Doom: Dark Age" has been released. The game will be released on May 15th and will be launched on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series Fight demons with the new flail while also bombarding nearby enemies, pilot a 30-story-tall mech to crush giant-sized demons, and assault mode lets you lock onto your target and dodge incoming projectiles.

Details revealed by foreign media ahead of time:

The map is huge

You can choose to find several hidden secrets, and you can gain extra health and armor with a little exploration.

To put it simply, this trial allows you to play parts of two different levels, not all of them. In the first level, you're basically piloting a "DOOM Guy Gundam." The second level lets you fly on a dragon with mechanical wings and a gun

While 2016's Doom 4 focused on running and gunning, and 2020's Doom Eternal evolved into jumping and shooting, this year's Doom: Dark Ages' core combat principles are about standing and fighting.

Dark Ages' shield makes it feel like the greatest unofficial Captain America game ever

The new shield allowed me to stand my ground and block or parry enemy attacks, even deflecting projectiles back at them if I managed to time it right.

As for which enemy attacks can be deflected and which can't, it's basically the traffic light rules - red means stop, green means go. Or for Star Wars fans, red means bad and green means good. The point is, you have to keep moving to get through waves of enemy red fire, but when you see a burst of green, you'll need to rush into danger in order to perfectly repel everything from searing energy bolts fired by enemy archers to deadly volleys fired by hulking Hell Tanks

Doom: Dark Ages seems to have the flexibility to allow players of any level to become god-level killers
