AppleIntelligence is a suite of artificial intelligence tools and features developed by Apple, the company announced on Monday, Apple device owners will now be able to take advantage of Priority Notifications, a feature that allows Apple's AI to highlight the most pressing notifications in a new format. Additional updates are coming to the ImagePlayground app and Mac soon. In addition, Apple Intelligence is now available to iPhone and iPad users in the EU and Apple Vision Pro in US English.

These changes are rolling out with the release of iOS 18.4, iPadOS 18.4, and macOS Sequoia 15.4.

Apple noted that its AI capabilities also support multiple new languages, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean and Chinese (Simplified). Additionally, localized English has been added for Singapore and India.

Although Apple Intelligence was launched as its new generative AI product at the company's Worldwide Developers Conference last year, the reality is that Apple is not ready to release all of its AI capabilities at once. This has resulted in a slow and steady rollout of numerous AI updates since the release of iOS 18.1, where Apple Intelligence first went live. For example, features such as ChatGPT integration and ImagePlayground were not launched until iOS 18.2 (and iPadOS 18.2, macOS Sequoia 15.2) a few months later.

Of the new features coming Monday, priority notifications could be the most useful if successfully implemented. Now, instead of sifting through all notifications looking for important updates (which often includes non-essential updates and other marketing messages from apps), you'll now be able to see the ones that deserve your attention appear at the top of the stack.

Other Apple Intelligence improvements rolling out today include the ability to create "memory movies" on Mac by typing descriptions, and the addition of Sketch styles in ImagePlayground, Apple's AI image generation app, for creating academic and detailed sketches.

Apple has previously announced that its artificial intelligence suite will be available in the EU in April 2025 - a delay Apple blamed on EU technical regulations such as the Digital Markets Act.

At the same time, as Apple Intelligence expands to the mixed reality platform, VisionPro users will be able to use AI functions such as writing tools, image playgrounds, and Genmoji. The update also includes some new emojis, including paint splatters, eye bags, fingerprints, root vegetables, shovels, and more.

The recently announced recipe companion Apple News + Food will also be available on Monday, along with new kid-safety features and other tweaks to a new version of the Apple Photos app and other Apple services.
