Technology-focused buyout firm Thoma Bravo is negotiating an acquisition, according to people familiar with the matterboeingThe company's Jeppesen navigation unit is in advanced talks and is expected to make an announcement later this week. The plan to sell Jeppesen is part of Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg's strategy to streamline operations and reduce debt by selling non-core assets.
It was reported last month that navigation products and software provider Jeppesen had attracted interest from multiple private equity firms and at least one aerospace supplier, with the final offer valuing the unit at more than $8 billion.
The final bid for Jeppesen is reportedly expected to be between $8 billion and $9 billion. When Boeing launched the auction last year, it initially targeted a price of more than $6 billion, but strong interest from potential buyers pushed the valuation higher.
