Meta announced today that it will cooperate withoakley(Oakley) jointly launched a new generation of smartGlasses. This limited edition Oakley Meta HSTN is priced at US$499 and will be available for pre-sale on July 11. This summer, other Oakley models equipped with Meta technology will also be launched, starting at $399.
Similar to existing Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, the Oakley version also comes with a front-facing camera, open-ear headphone speakers and microphone, all hardware integrated into the frame. After users pair the glasses with their mobile phones, they can use them to listen to music or podcasts, make calls, and interact with Meta AI. With the help of built-in cameras and microphones, Meta AI can also recognize the scene in front of the user and even achieve language translation.

Influenced by Oakley's sports genes, Meta positioned this new product as exclusive for athletes. The glasses are IPX4 waterproof and have twice the battery life of the Meta Ray-Ban. They can be used for 8 hours at a time. The accompanying charging box can provide an additional battery life of up to 48 hours. The camera has also been upgraded to 3K video shooting, which is a significant improvement compared to Meta Ray-Ban’s 1080p.
The new product launches a total of five Oakley frame and lens combinations, all of which can be equipped with prescription lenses as needed (additional charges apply). Frame colors include warm gray, black, brown smoke and clear, and there are a variety of lens options, including photochromic lenses. Available for pre-order starting July 11, the limited-edition $499 version features gold accents and gold Oakley PRIZM lenses. The collection will be available in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark.
Meta recently signed a multi-year cooperation agreement with Essilor Luxottica (parent company of Ray-Ban, Oakley and other brands). Essilor Luxottica recently revealed that it plans to jointly sell 10 million pairs of smart glasses with Meta every year by 2026. Alex Himel, head of Meta wearable devices, said: “This is just our first step into the field of sports technology, and there will be more to come.”
