Samsung has updated its smart display lineup with three new models, including the M series, which features QD-OLED screens for the first time. Of course, the company is also promising advanced AI capabilities across its entire product line. Samsung's M series of TVs have been around for almost five years. This all-in-one monitor blends a traditional display with smart TV features such as built-in streaming apps, wireless connectivity, and remote and app-based navigation.

Some argue that the M series attempts to be both a smart TV and a monitor, and therefore isn't as good as a dedicated device in either area. But the new M9 flagship product may change this perception of the outside world.

Measuring 32 inches, the M9 is the first TV in the series to feature a 4K QD-OLED panel, delivering the deep blacks and vibrant colors unique to the technology. It also comes with Samsung's OLED Safeguard+ technology, the company's suite of technologies designed to prevent screen burn-in through technologies like active cooling and brightness control.

Gamers may like the M9's 165Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync support.

Other features of the M9 include a glare-free display, AI Image Optimizer, 4K AI Upscaling Pro, and Active Voice Amplifier (AVA) Pro. Additionally, it comes with an integrated 4K webcam, a smart entertainment hub with Samsung TV Plus and Samsung Gaming Hub, and SmartThings integration.

The M9 is Pantone certified. Samsung says this ensures it can replicate the more than 2,100 colors and more than 110 skin tones in the Pantone color library. Additionally, it comes with USB-C, HDMI, and USB-A ports.

Having an OLED screen means the new M9 comes with a hefty price tag. It's available to pre-order now for $1,599 and ships in mid-July. Samsung is offering a $300 credit to qualified buyers.

Samsung is also updating its 32-inch M8 and M7 smart displays. They continue to feature 4K VA panels with a 60Hz refresh rate and new smart features like “click to search.” Additionally, it comes with Multi View and Multi Control functions that work side by side. The M8 has a SlimFit camera, but the M7 lacks a webcam.

The M8 is priced at $699, while the M7 is priced at $399, and the 43-inch version is priced at $499.
