According to tweaktown reports, Sony’s next-generation game console PlayStation 6 (PS6) is expected to be released in late 2027 or early 2028. Multiple sources pointed out thatThe performance of PS6 will be three times that of the standard version of PS5, with lower power consumption and a more affordable price.Well-known whistleblower Moore's Law is Dead (MLID) revealed some early specs of the PS6 in his video.

It is said that PS6 will be equipped with AMD's next-generation semi-customized "Orion" APU, and its main hardware configuration is as follows:

CPU: 8 Zen 6 (or higher) CPU cores.

GPU: 40 to 48 computing units based on RDNA 5 architecture, GPU frequency exceeds 3.0GHz.

Memory: GDDR7 memory, using 160-bit or 192-bit memory bus, with speeds up to 32Gbps.

MLID predicts that the PS6’s traditional rasterization performance will be up to three times better than the PS5’s, while the improvement in ray tracing (RT) performance is “expected to be even higher.”

In addition, PS6 will also have the following features:

Backwards Compatibility: Supports PS5 and PS4 games.

Power consumption and cost: Emphasis on controlling costs and keeping power consumption lower than PS5.

Release time:Manufacturing is scheduled to begin in mid-2027, with possible sales in fall 2027 or early 2028.

Another rumor from tipster KeplerL2 claims that PS6’s rasterization speed will be increased by 20%, while ray tracing and AI performance will be 2 times faster. Thanks to more powerful hardware and AMD's PSSR super-sampling technology, PS6 is expected to achieve a gaming experience of 4K 120 frames or even 8K 60 frames.
