Not long ago, Xiaomi Motors' first model was officially unveiled on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. At the same time, Xiaomi Motors' sales network is also being established in an orderly manner. According to Jiemian News, Xiaomi is in the process of confirming the layout of its store display cars, and the relevant display cars will arrive in the store in the first quarter of next year.
Based on previous experience in Huawei's smart car selection business, Xiaomi's car sales may include two channels. One is to use Xiaomi's mature mobile phone sales channels to sell cars directly, without having to invest heavy capital and time costs in channel construction; the other is to build a new delivery center responsible for vehicle delivery and after-sales maintenance.
Jiemian News stated that some Mi Home stores in Beijing and Shanghai have started confirming the placement of exhibition cars, and at the same time, some large Mi Home stores are being renovated to have space to accommodate Xiaomi cars in the future. It has also been previously reported that Xiaomi Motors has started the selection of delivery centers in July this year. The first batch of cities includes Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xi'an. Candidate sites are required to have at least 120 parking spaces and the building must not be less than 3,000 square meters.
Since July this year, Xiaomi has also established Xiaomi Jingming Technology Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, Wuhan, Kunming, Xi'an, and Shenzhen. Its business scope includes electric vehicle charging infrastructure operation, battery spare parts sales, car sales and many other automotive services. In the future, he may be responsible for the sales of Xiaomi cars and related after-sales issues.
In terms of production, Xiaomi's first model is said to have entered the fifth stage of production line verification, and Xiaomi's Yizhuang factory will complete the goal of loading 300 vehicles in December. The additional production is mainly to supply the needs of terminal exhibition vehicles, and the mass production node will not be earlier than the first quarter of next year.
