While Apple has yet to officially announce it, the upcoming iOS 26 update will add Qi 2.2 support to all iPhone 16 models except iPhone 16e. iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models running iOS 26 can charge wirelessly using any Qi 2.2 charger at speeds of up to 25W.

Previously, these devices could only achieve 25W wireless charging speeds using Apple's latest MagSafe charger, but now support third-party chargers as well.
The official branding of Qi 2.2 is "Qi2 25W".
Belkin released three new Qi2 25W charging stands this week, including a $59.99 2-in-1 iPhone/AirPods charging stand, a $99.99 3-in-1 iPhone/AirPods/Apple Watch charging stand, and a $129.99 3-in-1 charging stand. All prices are in US dollars.
Belkin said all three new chargers can charge iPhone 16 models running iOS 26 from 0% to 50% in about 30 minutes, which is the same charging time Apple advertises for its own 25W MagSafe charger for iPhone 16 models. So, this effectively confirms that iOS 26 adds Qi 2.2 support to the iPhone 16 series.
In the recent iOS 26 beta, support for Qi 2.2 has been added to iPhone 16 models, so you can test it now. iOS 26 is expected to be released in September.
It's unclear whether the iPhone 16 models have officially received Qi 2.2 certification, but if not, they should be certified when iOS 26 is released.
