Google announced that it will introduce AI mode shortcut buttons to the iOS and Android versions of the Chrome browser. Starting today, users in the United States will see the "AI Mode" button below the search bar when they open a new Chrome tab. This feature will be gradually expanded to 160 countries, and support for major languages including Hindi, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese will be added.

The newly launched AI mode button allows users to quickly access Google’s latest AI search capabilities on mobile devices, allowing users to ask multi-level, conversational questions through text, voice or images, and obtain comprehensive and detailed search results. This mobile experience has been optimized compared to the desktop AI mode, making it easier for users to call it directly on the new tab page with one click, without having to search for or activate the experimental function in the browser menu.
The AI mode can not only handle complex conversational searches, but also supports question chain advancement. Users can continue to expand or improve their questions. The system will keep conversation records based on context, automatically generate summaries, and recommend relevant links to facilitate one-stop exploration of information. Each tab can become a personalized information workspace, integrating summary, reasoning and navigation functions.

Google plans to achieve a consistent AI mode experience on mobile and desktop, and all devices will have seamless access to this feature in the future. The AI model has recently added "agent capabilities" to support direct bookings of restaurants, event tickets and even flight services, but some advanced features are only available to specific subscribers.
In terms of privacy, Google said that the AI model can improve search convenience while ensuring data security, but the company's privacy policy and data collection methods have always been questioned. If users need to protect their privacy, they can adjust relevant settings, but this may affect the experience of the AI mode. This choice is left to the user. Managers in the enterprise and education fields also need to balance functionality and data management authority.
As AI mode becomes the core of Chrome's workflow, users' search habits and information acquisition logic will change, which will affect content publishers' optimization strategies and users' information ecosystem navigation methods.
