The German Federal Prosecutor's Office confirmed on the 27th that a Ukrainian suspect in the "Nord Stream" natural gas pipeline explosion case who was previously detained in Italy was extradited to Germany on the same day. It is reported that the 49-year-old suspect arrived in Germany by helicopter under the supervision of German personnel. The German Federal Prosecutor's Office said,The suspect will be taken to the German Federal Supreme Court on the 28th. The judge is expected to issue an arrest warrant for him, and then he will stand trial in Germany.

The German Federal Prosecutor's Office accused the suspect of participating in planning and carrying out "explosions and anti-constitutional sabotage activities." It said that the suspect, together with six other suspects, placed an explosive device on the "Nord Stream" natural gas pipeline under the Baltic Sea in September 2022, destroying the gas pipeline. In August this year, the suspect was arrested while vacationing with his family in Italy.
According to investigators, the seven suspects include four divers. One of the divers was arrested and detained in Poland, but Poland refused to extradite him to Germany. This person is also a Ukrainian man and has been released a few days ago.
On September 26, 2022, the Baltic Sea submarine gas pipelines "Nord Stream-1" and "Nord Stream-2" connecting Russia, Germany and other European countries exploded violently in the waters near Denmark and Sweden, and a large amount of natural gas leaked. The investigation found that three of the four pipelines were leaking and were suspected of being sabotaged.
