China Academy of Space Technology announced,Recently, the world's largest 5,000-square-meter high-altitude wind power umbrella developed by No. 508 Institute of the Fifth Academy successfully carried out its first umbrella opening and closing tests, and all scheduled tests were successfully completed.According to reports, high-altitude wind power generation is a new energy technology that uses autonomous tethered aerial components to capture wind energy at altitudes above 300 meters to achieve wind energy-electric energy conversion.
The "protagonist" of this test - the power parachute and parachute closing actuator, were independently developed by the 508 Institute.
The total area of the power umbrella is 5,000 square meters, which is equivalent to the size of 12 standard basketball courts, setting a new record for the area of an independently developed umbrella in my country.
As the "intelligent brain" of the umbrella body, the umbrella closing driver accurately realizes the umbrella opening and closing control of the umbrella system, providing core technical support for the stable operation of high-altitude wind power generation.
This successful test of a 5,000-square-meter high-altitude wind power parachute has realized the cross-border application and industrial transformation of spacecraft deceleration and landing technology.
