According to supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, although the four-prism lens with up to 5x optical zoom is currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the feature will be expanded to both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max next year.

Ming-Chi Kuo published an article on Medium today, briefly revealing this information. The article focused on the production challenges faced by the iPhone 15 Pro Max in terms of cameras.
In the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the four-prism lens system adopts a "folding" design and can be installed inside the smartphone to achieve up to 5x optical zoom and up to 25x digital zoom. In comparison, the smaller iPhone 15 Pro still only achieves 3x optical zoom, consistent with the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
There are rumors that the iPhone 16 Pro will be equipped with a larger 6.3-inch display compared to the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro. This change will increase the overall size of the device, providing more internal space for the prism lenses.
This is not the first time that Ming-Chi Kuo has said that the four-prism lens will be extended to the two iPhone 16 Pro models, but it shows that this change is still planned after the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro Max on Friday.
