Hardware Unboxed recently released its list of the worst graphics cards of 2025. As expected, the list is dominated by graphics cards with 8GB of video memory. Hardware Unboxed believes that the worst graphics cards in 2025 are:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050

GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB

AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB

GeForce RTX 5080

The RTX 5050, which was quietly released in June, has almost no highlights. There are only 2560 CUDA cores, 8GB of video memory and 320GB/s bandwidth. It also only supports x8 PCIe channels, which will seriously affect performance for users using PCIe 3.0 motherboards.

The only advantage of the RTX 5050 is that it is priced lower for gamers who need 1080p gaming at low/medium settings, but if the budget is slightly higher, the RTX 5060 is a better choice.

In addition, in 2025, 8GB video memory has gradually become a bottleneck restricting 1080p high-definition and 1440p games, but manufacturers still seem unwilling to let go.

Therefore, in the list, two higher priced graphics cards, RTX 5060 Ti 8GB and RX 9060 XT 8GB, are also listed, and their performance is extremely poor when the video memory overflows.

The most eye-catching thing on the list is the high-end flagship RTX 5080.As a graphics card with a recommended price of 8,299 yuan, it was rated by HU as "the worst 80-level product in history."

Reasons include that it has only half the video memory of the RTX 5090, is much lower in performance than the RTX 5090, and that this graphics card is difficult to obtain at the recommended retail price.
