Trump Mobile has reportedly delayed plans to deliver its gold smartphone by the end of the year. Trump's family business licensed its brand name and launched U.S. mobile services and a $499 smartphone, the T1, in June under the Trump Mobile brand. The business is the latest attempt by the Trump children to cash in on the Trump name.

The company's customer service team said that the recent U.S. government shutdown has affected shipments, and warned that it is very likely that the device will not be shipped this month.

The company has promised to launch a gold model, but it is still unclear who will be responsible for manufacturing it due to limited domestic smartphone production capacity in the United States. Trump Mobile's Internet service costs $47.45 a month. Its official website states that customers can pay a $100 reservation fee to reserve the phone, which was originally expected to be delivered this year.
