The two technology tycoons criticized each other through a series of fierce posts on X.The latest round of conflict appeared to have been sparked by Musk early Tuesday morning.He retweeted a post that mentioned that "nine children and adults have died related to the use of the OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT since its release in 2022" and wrote: "Don't let your loved ones use ChatGPT."

Altman immediately hit back, first defending the original intention of ChatGPT and OpenAI to protect users, and then criticizing Tesla's automatic assisted driving technology (Autopilot), saying it was unsafe.
"It's really hard. We need to protect vulnerable users, but also make sure our security measures don't prevent all users from using our tools," Altman said.

Musk said he donated $38 million to OpenAI when it was first established as a nonprofit.
