It cost a total of 32 billion rupees (approximately RMB 2.8 billion) and consists of 9 rectangular, 15-story buildings with 131 elevators.The exchange covers an area of 62 hectares, surpassing the Pentagon in the United States and becoming the largest office building complex in the world.
There are also catering, retail, wellness and conference facilities for workers, state-of-the-art security systems in all offices and spaces, 200,000 square feet of parking area and an ideal location just 5 kilometers from the airport.
Additionally, the building's traffic layout provides one-way traffic circulation on peripheral internal roads, with separate entrances and exits.
Providing specific entrances and exits for cars, taxis, autos, service vehicles, cargo vehicles, customized vehicles and two-wheelers, as well as dedicated service vehicles, minimizes traffic congestion and eliminates potential vehicle conflict points.
Modi pointed out that India's share in global gem and jewelry exports is only 3.5%,The Surat Diamond Exchange is expected to help India increase its share of gem and jewelry exports and create 150,000 new jobs in India., and provide a "one-stop" workplace for craftsmen and tradesmen.
