The KyoAni incident suspect Shinji Aoba, who spent the government's sky-high medical resources and has now largely recovered, talked about his thoughts and motivations before setting the fire during his trial today, September 19, and expressed that he was shocked by the Haruhi Suzumiya animation and started writing novels.
·In past police hearings, Shinji Aoba has repeatedly stated that "KyoAni stole novel ideas" and "I started writing novels after watching KyoAni's animations." Today, he told the court that he was "shocked by the wonderful Haruhi Suzumiya animation and started writing novels."
· During the prosecutor's interrogation, Shinji Aoba also bluntly said, "If I can write that kind of novel, my work problems will be solved," and expressed his desire for KyoAni to accept him (the novel).
·The prosecutor stated that the criminal’s motive was “hate of revenge because he believed that the creative idea of the novel had been stolen” and that he had the ability to be a normal person.
