Google announced this month that Google Finance, an AI-reformed financial information service, will be gradually opened to more than 100 countries and regions around the world in the next few weeks, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico and other markets. The new version of Google Finance features market insights powered by generative AI and has been tested with Search Labs pilot users in the United States since August 2024.

As early as 2020, Google made a major revision of Google Finance on the desktop and mobile sides, optimizing the search and tracking experience of stock data. In 2024, Google will add data visualization and custom chart capabilities to the AI model in search, laying the foundation for financial queries.
In this upgrade, users can ask more detailed financial questions directly to Google Finance and receive comprehensive answers compiled by AI. They can also call more advanced charting tools and view real-time news and market data streams covering commodities and cryptocurrencies. The service started testing in India in November last year and supports local languages such as English and Hindi.
The new version of Google Finance also introduces a feature called Deep Search to further enhance AI’s ability to respond to complex financial issues. Based on the Gemini model, Deep Search can perform hundreds of retrieval tasks in parallel for a single question, reasoning and synthesizing information from multiple sources to generate more comprehensive answers.

Users can explore prediction market data through natural language queries, including information from platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket. For example, users can ask "What will GDP growth be in 2026?" to see the current market's different possibilities for future growth paths and how these expectations change over time.
In terms of company fundamental information, the new version of Google Finance supports centralized tracking of corporate earnings calls, providing real-time audio, synchronized transcripts, and key information extracted by AI. The newly launched Earnings tab will display the schedule of the next earnings call, and dynamically update key points summaries through the "At a glance" summary module during the three stages of the earnings call, including before, during and after the earnings report.
Google emphasized that the current AI-driven Google Finance is still in the testing phase, and users can still switch back to the classic version through the button in the upper right corner of the interface. The company pointed out in its official announcement that with the implementation of this expansion, the service will provide complete local language support in each supported region so that users can more easily track local and global market performance.
