According to financial data and media reports, the budget of "GTA6" may set an industry record, reaching $2 billion. British public records show that between 2019 and 2025, the employee salary expenditure of Rockstar North Edinburgh Division alone was approximately US$2.1 billion, which does not include other studio and marketing expenses. Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive have yet to officially confirm this figure.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick admitted for the first time in a recent interview that the development of the game was "costly." The budget assessment given by industry insiders is more conservative, expected to be between US$1 billion and US$1.5 billion (excluding marketing expenses), and the latter is expected to increase significantly in the future.
Despite the huge investment, Take-Two still plans to control the selling price below the "user-perceived value." Zelnick said the company's mission is to "charge well below the value that users get," with a target price range of $70 to $80.

"GTA6" is expected to be launched on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms on November 19, 2026.
