"Forza Horizon 6" explicitly stipulates that players cannot drive through any cherry blossom trees because cherry blossom trees are "an iconic element of Japanese culture." One of the core differences between the "Forza Horizon" series and the more serious "Forza Motorsport" series is that it has a vast open world where players can drive and explore as they please. However, some players believe that, rather than simply driving and exploring, it is often more attractive to modify a car and drive it to smash everything in front of you.

There’s nothing more satisfying than picking a car and driving it through trees, streetlights, street signs, and everything in sight, and this classic gameplay is still intact in Forza Horizon 6. However, there is one notable exception when it comes to wreaking havoc on this virtual Japan: the cherry blossom trees.

Forza Horizon 6 sets vehicles to be unable to crash into cherry blossom trees

As Dexerto reported and demonstrated in a live demo, no matter how fast you crash into the cherry blossom trees in Forza Horizon 6, you can't destroy them. Horizon 6 design director Torben Ellert confirmed in an interview with the Japan Times that this was an official intentional design.

Ellert said that while most objects on the map can be destroyed in order to make the movement "fun and fulfilling," the development team deliberately made the cherry blossom trees indestructible. This is because cherry blossom trees are "an iconic element of Japanese culture" and driving through them is disrespectful.

While the cherry blossom tree is the main indestructible object in Forza Horizon 6, it's not the only one. Ellert also confirmed that "some temples and other cultural buildings" will also be unable to be destroyed, which would prevent players from "being tempted to drive into shrines or other culturally significant locations."
