The beloved blue hedgehog is about to grace the big screen again - the filming of "Sonic the Hedgehog 4" has officially been completed. Director Jeff Fowler, who directed all four films in the series, officially announced that Paramount/Sega's sequel has been completed and posted a photo on social media with the robotic hedgehog "Metal Sonic" on the set.

Fowler wrote: "Sonic The Movie 4 is wrapping up!!! On behalf of this incredible cast and crew: we just finished making our best Sonic movie yet and can't wait for everyone to see it."

"Sonic the Hedgehog 4" is scheduled to hit North American theaters on March 19, 2027. Kristen Bell will voice the new character Amy Rose, and Ben Schwartz will continue to lend his voice to Sonic. Jim Carrey, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter and other original cast members will also return to star.

Producers include Neal H. Grace Moretz, Toby Asher and Toru Nakahara. So far, the cumulative global box office of the "Sonic the Hedgehog" movie series has exceeded US$1 billion, with the third film becoming the highest-grossing film in the series with more than US$490 million.
