Chet Faliszek, the former screenwriter of "Half-Life 2", "Left 4 Dead", "Portal" and other V agency game projects, recently stated that he has no interest in writing a script for "Half-Life 3", "I don't even want to touch it."

Previously, some netizens said that it would be "easy" for Valve to make "Half-Life 3" because "the plot can be unfolded at will." Chet Faliszek agrees. He said: "Here's the problem. For some people, it can be that way, but for other people..."

He specifically emphasized at the beginning of the video: "This is not to imply that something is happening, nor to insinuate anything. I just want to talk about something that happened more than 10 years ago. I am not implying anything, okay?"

Former V agency screenwriter expresses no interest in

Because if you were a screenwriter for the Half-Life series, no matter what you say, the Internet will automatically interpret it as "Half-Life 3 is in development and will be announced at some seemingly inconspicuous game conference," no matter how unreliable it is.

He said: "Every time someone asks me: 'Don't you want to go back and do that?' No! Not at all. I almost never want to touch works that already have a lot of setting and background history. Even "Leg of the Dead" is the same. I don't want to touch any old IP. I don't want to be chased and scolded by those who remember the setting better than myself, saying that I have changed a certain period of worldview history 50 years ago."

Later, he also mentioned that he had discussed the possibility of cooperation with Bungie:

"But their game settings are too many, too many. Those world view settings simply scare me. I can't even remember much of the events in my own life, let alone the settings in your game. I don't want to write anything within this framework at all."

He even said directly: "For me, any sequel project is basically a disaster nightmare, and I don't want to do it at all. So I won't do it."

Finally, he seemed to be worried that others would misunderstand that his meaning was not clear enough. He once again emphasized that he did not want to return to "Half-Life" at all:

"No, I don't even want to touch the ten-foot pole. Even if there's a grav gun between me and the ten-foot pole, I won't touch it. Even if Dog (the robot in "Half-Life 2") has a robotic arm to hold the pole for me, I won't touch it."
