Microsoft recently stated that despite Sony signing a ten-year "Call of Duty" agreement with them, it still actively opposes the acquisition of Activision Blizzard. The news was disclosed through a filing with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), which continues to oppose the Activision Blizzard acquisition.
Microsoft expressed surprise and disappointment at Sony's continued opposition to the acquisition, and they have the right to request more documents from Sony to support their claims. At the same time, Microsoft also mocked Sony for providing 52 documents for the case, half of which were irrelevant to the case.
Microsoft said: "We signed a ten-year Call of Duty agreement with Sony that provides better protection terms than Activision Blizzard. Some thought this marked the end of Sony's campaign against Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, but this is not the case."
Sony still seems to be holding on to a glimmer of hope that it can prevent Microsoft from acquiring Activision Blizzard from becoming even more powerful.
