Just after Rockstar Games confirmed that the first physical version of "GTA6" was only an "in-box download code" and sparked heated discussions among players, things seemed to have a new twist. According to Graczdari, an industry source at the Polish gaming website PPE.pl, the physical version of "GTA6" that actually includes the game disc is expected to be launched in December this year.
Graczdari was the first to break the news that "GTA6" would not launch a traditional disc version during its initial launch, precisely to prevent the game from being leaked in advance. This statement was partially confirmed this week - Rockstar officially confirmed that the game will be released in physical boxes on November 19th, but the package only contains a digital download redemption code and no disc.
Now Graczdari once again broke the news that the first "code in the box" version is only the first production batch, and the complete physical disc version of the PS5 and Xbox Series X platforms will be available in December. According to its description, "In general, the redemption code version is only one-time, and a CD version will be released later."
If the news is true, this means that after the first batch of boxed redemption code versions are sold out, players may have to wait until December to buy boxed products again, when the version that actually includes a disc will be on the market.
However, it should be pointed out that Rockstar parent company Take-Two has previously denied that the physical version will be released later than November 19. As of now, there has been no official response to the rumors of a CD version being released in December.
The standard version of "GTA6" is priced at about US$80, and the ultimate version is US$100. It will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. As for whether the disc version will really arrive in December, it still needs further official confirmation from Rockstar.
