The code shows that users who hope to obtain a limited number of Apple Vision Pro must first pass several levels, including face scanning. AppleVision Pro is a complex product that requires the right size of various accessories to fit the visor to the user's face. Therefore, Apple will require users to 3D scan their faces through the Apple Store app when ordering for accurate measurements.

Code for face scanning has appeared in the Apple Store app, including the text: "You can scan your face to determine the size of Apple Vision Pro." This scanning may not be mandatory, but the sizing information it provides users is important so they don’t have to guess at checkout whether they’ll be comfortable.

Apple says it will offer different headband sizes and lightweight seals to ensure everyone gets the right fit. Specific sizes have not yet been announced, but Apple will provide a SoloKnitBand and a DualLoopBand in the package.

Pre-orders for the Vision Pro will begin on January 19, and customers must pick up their orders offline, so having the Apple Store app on the iPhone scan the user's face is a useful addition and saves an extra trip.

Rumors from supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggest that the product will be available in very limited quantities when it launches. Shipments may only be 60,000-80,000 units when it goes on sale on February 2.

Hopefully Apple will launch a pre-order option before January 19 so customers can configure their orders before the frenzy, similar to how iPhone pre-orders work, with information on storage capacity and other accessory options still sparse.

Apple Vision Pro will be available for pre-order on January 19th and will be shipped on February 2nd. It starts at $3,499 with 256GB of storage.
