[Alibaba DAMO Academy releases an AI model for esophageal cancer that can identify esophageal cancer from plain CT scans] On September 24, Alibaba DAMO Academy, in collaboration with Sichuan Cancer Hospital, Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center and other institutions, developed an esophageal cancer screening AI model DAMO EAGLE, which can identify esophageal cancer, including early and precancerous malignant lesions, from plain scan CT scans without the need for intubation or contrast. It has been verified on more than 80,000 cases in three countries.
