[Aberdeen Investment expects the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates in December and March next year] On October 29, Aberdeen Investment said that Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh remained optimistic about the U.S. economy at the latest policy meeting, but also reiterated that inflation is still too high. "We still expect the Fed to raise interest rates further in December and March next year, with interest rates ending at 4.25%-4.50%, which we view as more of a precautionary rate hike than an aggressive demand-squelching measure in response to high inflation," emerging market economist Michael Langham wrote in a report. "The U.S. midterm elections will have little impact on changing this short-term outlook." Aberdeen Investment's core expectation is that Democrats should win both the House of Representatives and the Senate in the midterm elections, although the Senate race is expected to be close. More broadly, Aberdeen Investments does not believe the midterm elections will constrain the United States from launching another strike against Iran.
