[SanDisk CEO: Customers underestimate the NAND flash memory capacity required to run infrastructure. Many old customers are placing additional orders] October 30th, SanDisk Chairman and CEO David Goeckeler said on the first fiscal quarter conference call for fiscal year 2027 on Thursday, Eastern Time, "In general, we have learned from customers that they underestimated the NAND flash memory capacity required to run the infrastructure. Not only are many old customers adding orders, but new customers are also coming in. "We now have a strong supply channel until 2030 and beyond. "
Currently, about 50% of SanDisk's production capacity in fiscal year 2027 has been locked in the new business module (NBM) project, and this proportion will rise to about two-thirds in 2028. Management expects NBM project reserves to exceed the company's supply by the end of the decade.
