[Fuel costs rise, electricity prices in Tokyo and other places hit 4-year high] November 2, the latest data from the Japanese power trading agency showed that due to the situation in the Middle East pushing up fuel costs, the spot price of electricity in the capital Tokyo and the central region has continued to rise in recent days, hitting a 4-year high. Data show that the next-day electricity spot prices in Tokyo and Chubu on the 1st were 36.11 yen (approximately RMB 1.52) and 36.29 yen (approximately RMB 1.53) per kilowatt-hour respectively, up 1.1% and 7.2% respectively from a week ago, hitting a new high since September 2022.
