[National standards for electric motorcycle battery swap systems will be implemented] September 16th, reporters learned today that from October 1, the national standard "Technical Specifications for Battery Swap Systems for Electric Motorcycles and Electric Mopeds" (GB/T47352-2026) will be implemented. Electric motorcycles using battery swap mode have the advantages of easy operation, low cost, and safe power consumption. However, in the past, there was a lack of unified specifications and requirements for the battery swap performance of the entire vehicle. The upcoming national standards focus on the three core goals of speed, safety, and reliability, and systematically put forward technical requirements and test methods for battery swap systems for electric motorcycles and electric mopeds. The main contents are as follows:
The first is to reflect rapidity. In order to ensure that users can complete the battery swap operation efficiently and smoothly, structurally, the battery compartment is required to be reasonably laid out, and requirements related to the battery swap interface are put forward to ensure that the battery can be loaded and locked quickly and accurately. Operationally, a schematic diagram of the common steps of the battery swap operation is given to guide manufacturers to standardize product instructions, so that users can obtain a consistent and fast operating experience in battery swap systems of different brands.
The second is to ensure safety. The standards put forward strict requirements from multiple aspects such as electrical safety, mechanical safety and material safety to further protect users' personal safety. For example, requirements such as withstand voltage, insulation resistance, and temperature rise are put forward for the power exchange interface to effectively prevent the risk of electric shock, short circuit, and overheating; the flame retardant level of the non-metallic materials of the battery compartment and the power exchange interface is specified to reduce fire hazards from the source.
The third is to improve reliability. The standard establishes a multi-dimensional reliability assessment system based on the characteristics of high-frequency use and complex working conditions of the battery replacement mode. At the vehicle level, energy consumption rate and remaining power indication tests are carried out to ensure that the power display is accurate and credible. In terms of structural strength, sinusoidal vibration and mechanical impact tests are conducted to further prevent the risk of battery and battery replacement structure failure. In terms of durability, the number of plug-in and pull-out durability tests for the power replacement interface is specified. After the test, the temperature rise reaches the standard and the function is normal, ensuring reliable mechanical and electrical connections throughout the life cycle.
The implementation of this standard will further improve the safety level of motorcycle battery swapping systems, improve the convenience and user experience of consumers' daily battery swapping operations, and provide safer, more convenient and more flexible options for people to travel short distances.
