Abstract:
The pedal bracket of the Zunjie V800 broke during a self-media braking test, triggering heated discussions about braking safety in the automotive industry. This incident made the brake pedal and its bracket, which had rarely appeared in car promotions, become a component for car companies to focus on displaying their own safety design and verification standards. In the past two days, executives from Lantu, GAC Honda, Warriors, Wangwang and other brands have spoken out one after another, demonstrating the brake pedal structure, materials and testing standards of their own models. Zunjie Auto also announced that it will further optimize the design of relevant components and provide free upgrade options to users who have delivered it.
On the evening of October 8, Lu Fang, chairman of Lantu Motors, posted two pictures of the brake pedal on his personal Weibo, with the text "Multi-layered high-strength steel plate main beam" showing the structural details of the pedal and bracket. In response to some consumers' doubts about plastic brake accessories, on the evening of the 9th, Lu Fang once again issued an article saying that whether to use steel or plastic is not the key.

On October 9, Lin Zhibin, deputy general manager of Guangqi Honda, issued an article introducing the Accord's brake pedal, saying that it is made of high-rigidity steel, which has been verified by tests to withstand a force of more than 3,000 N and maintain structural integrity without breaking.

Wan Liangyu, CEO of Mengshi Motors, said on the same day that the brake pedals of all Mengshi products are made of high-strength materials and have reinforced structural designs for off-road and racing conditions, and have been tested in extreme scenarios such as ring towers. He said that the pressure-bearing capacity of relevant components is higher than the national standard requirements.

Zheng Yu, assistant general manager of BYD Yangwang Automobile and head of marketing and user development, introduced through a video that the brake pedal assemblies of Yangwang U8, U8L and U7 are all made of metal, and the pedal force complies with the corporate standard of 2,500 N.
Regarding the above-mentioned Internet hot spots, industry insiders said that the discussion should not stop at car companies showing materials and comparing parameters, but should also push companies to re-examine the reliability of basic components and whether existing tests can fully cover the complex situations in real driving. While intelligence and luxury configurations are constantly being upgraded, every basic component related to driving safety requires solid design and full verification.
