Abstract:
On October 27, some netizens discovered that hands did not appear in the promotional image of the new iPad mini (A20 Pro) displayed on Apple's official website in Korea, while the promotional image of the same product on Apple's official website in China showed a hand pinching the edge of the tablet. There are differences in page presentation between the two places, which has caused concern.

According to Apple’s official website, the new iPad mini is 5.4 mm thick, equipped with an A20 Pro chip, and uses an OLED display. The relevant pictures on the Chinese official website visually show the slim design of the product through the comparison of fingers and the body; the corresponding pictures on the Korean official website only show the device itself.
This difference has also triggered discussions about whether Apple considers local cultural sensitivities. In South Korea, the gesture of pinching the thumb and index finger together has caused controversy many times. In 2023, a promotional video for "MapleStory" owned by the game company Nexon caused a controversy because some netizens questioned the presence of similar gestures. The relevant animation producers later apologized for the controversy.
As of now, Apple has not publicly stated the reason for the adjustment of the promotional image on the Korean official website.
