Apple’s new Apple TV 4K configuration exposed: A19 chip blessing

📅 2026-09-25

Abstract:

Apple’s upcoming new generation Apple TV 4K has once again received important news. The latest leaked information shows that this streaming media device, which has not been updated for many years, will receive the largest hardware upgrade in recent years. Not only will it receive the A19 series processor, it is also expected to become an important part of Apple's artificial intelligence and smart home ecosystem.

According to the latest exposed system code, the device identification corresponding to the new Apple TV points to the A19 series chip architecture. This means that Apple may equip it with an A19 or A19 Pro processor instead of the A17 Pro solution that has been widely speculated.

If the news is true, the performance improvement of the new product will be quite obvious. The current Apple TV 4K will be released in 2022, equipped with an A15 Bionic chip and 4GB of memory. The A19 series processors not only have more advanced manufacturing processes and stronger computing capabilities, but also mean that new devices are expected to be equipped with 8GB or even 12GB of memory to provide necessary hardware support for the operation of artificial intelligence functions.

Industry insiders believe that an important reason why Apple introduced such a high-specification chip for Apple TV is to prepare for the upcoming new generation of Siri and Apple Intelligence functions.

In recent years, Apple has continued to promote its device-side artificial intelligence strategy, and living room devices are regarded as important nodes in the future home AI ecosystem. The new Apple TV is expected to support more intelligent Siri functions, allowing users to complete content search, home control and more cross-device operations through natural language.

In addition to the processor upgrade, the new device is also expected to be equipped with Apple's self-developed N1 wireless network chip. This chip is expected to support the Wi‑Fi 7 standard, bringing significant improvements in wireless bandwidth, latency and stability, and is of great significance for 4K and even higher-specification streaming content transmission in the future.

At the same time, Apple may also update the Siri Remote simultaneously. Although the specific changes have not yet been exposed, there are signs of new remote controls in the relevant code, indicating that Apple is adjusting the user interaction experience.

It is worth noting that Apple does not seem to intend to completely change the product design. According to the information currently exposed, the new Apple TV 4K will continue to use the existing square black body design. The overall volume and appearance changes are expected to be very limited, and the upgrade focus will mainly focus on the internal hardware.

Analysts pointed out that the role of the new Apple TV is no longer just a streaming media player. As the Apple Intelligence, HomeKit, Matter and Thread ecosystem continues to expand, Apple TV is gradually becoming the control center in the Apple Intelligence home system.

The more powerful processor and larger memory capacity also give it the ability to undertake multiple tasks such as local AI computing, smart home coordination, and lightweight gaming devices.

In fact, the market originally expected Apple to update the Apple TV product line in 2025, but the related plans were ultimately postponed. Therefore, the 2026 version of Apple TV 4K has been close to four years since the release of the previous generation product, making it one of the devices with the longest update cycle in Apple’s product line.

As leaked information continues to increase, it is generally believed that the new device is approaching the official release stage. If Apple eventually equips it with an A19 or A19 Pro chip, it will become the largest performance upgrade in the history of Apple TV, and it also means that Apple is further integrating TV, smart home and artificial intelligence services into a unified ecosystem.
