Apple’s new generation Apple TV 4K is expected to be officially unveiled on October 13

📅 2026-10-10

Abstract:

After nearly four years of waiting, Apple is expected to release a new generation of Apple TV 4K on October 13. This product is expected to be launched as part of Apple’s “Welcome Home” new product launch event and become an important update to Apple’s home entertainment product line.

According to the information currently disclosed, Apple is expected to officially release the new Apple TV through a Newsroom press release on October 13, local time. At the same time, media reporters and content creators invited to participate in the "Welcome Home" experience event in New York that day are also expected to be the first to share hands-on photos and experience videos of the device. The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. ET.

In terms of hardware, the new Apple TV 4K is expected to be equipped with an A19 or A19 Pro processor, which is a significant upgrade compared to the A15 bionic chip used in existing models. According to sources, the memory capacity of the new device will be increased to 8GB to 12GB, which will also provide a hardware foundation for supporting Apple's new generation of Siri artificial intelligence functions. For comparison, the current Apple TV 4K released in 2022 is only equipped with 4GB of memory.

In terms of wireless connections, the new device is also expected to use Apple’s self-developed N1 network chip and support the Wi‑Fi 7 standard. Compared with Wi‑Fi 6 on existing products, Wi‑Fi 7 can provide higher data transmission speeds and lower network latency. At the same time, the N1 chip will also support the Bluetooth 6.0 Bluetooth standard, bringing more possibilities for future home smart device connections.

In terms of appearance design, currently leaked information shows that the overall body design of the new Apple TV is basically consistent with the existing model, with no obvious changes. However, the included Siri Remote is expected to be improved or redesigned to a certain extent, and specific details have not yet been announced.

It is worth noting that in June this year, due to the continued increase in the cost of memory chips, Apple had already raised the price of Apple TV 4K. Taking the US market as an example, the starting price of this product has increased from the previous US$129 to US$199. It is generally expected that after the release of the new generation model, its pricing strategy will also become the focus of consumers' attention.

If the relevant rumors are true, this will be Apple’s first major hardware upgrade to this product series since the launch of the current Apple TV 4K in 2022. With a stronger processor, larger memory capacity and Wi‑Fi 7 support, the new generation of Apple TV is expected to further strengthen its core position in the home audio-visual entertainment and smart home ecosystem.
