Apple on Monday released a new version of its iPhone operating system, iOS 27, which includes a redesigned Siri AI personal assistant. Just before the latest iPhone is officially launched this week, Apple is the first to open a test version of this new Siri to users. It is reported that Siri AI is based on Apple Intelligence and has been greatly improved in terms of personalization and functionality. For example, users can ask Siri to search their text messages for addresses, recipes or instructions.
Apple stated that the new version of Siri AI is still in the testing phase, and users need to actively choose to join in the "Settings" application. However, some users may need to join a waiting list before gaining access.
Apple positions the soon-to-be-launched iPhone 18 series as an ideal device for running artificial intelligence functions because it is equipped with a faster chip and the phone also stores a large amount of personal data such as the user's calendar and text messages.

However, for more complex Siri AI requests, Apple provides a service called "Private Cloud Compute". The service uses Google Cloud's infrastructure and is powered by chips from Nvidia and Intel. In addition, Apple is also developing its own AI model using Google's Gemini model.
Apple stated that some Siri AI and Apple Intelligence functions require calling cloud servers and will therefore be subject to daily usage limits. The company said it will launch a paid plan in the future to provide users with higher usage limits.

Currently, Siri AI only supports English. Apple said it will add support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish next month. However, this feature will not be launched in the EU and Chinese markets initially.
