Abstract:
Before Apple is expected to officially release the new MacBook Pro on October 28, local time, important details about its hardware design have once again come out in the industry. Tipster Digital released information on Weibo that the upcoming touch-sensitive MacBook Pro will use a new and improved hinge structure, and this upgrade is related to Apple’s future development plans for the second and third generation iPhone Duo folding screen phones.

According to the leaked content, one of the most important upgrades of the new MacBook Pro is the hinge design. Although specific technical details have not been disclosed, sources say that the design is related to the structural evolution of subsequent iPhone Duo products. However, it is unclear what technical solutions are shared between the two, or whether they involve the same mechanical structure concept.
This statement is basically consistent with the information previously disclosed by Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman. Gurman once said that Apple has redesigned the hinge mechanism of the touch-sensitive MacBook Pro to ensure that the display can still remain stable when users directly touch the screen and will not cause significant shaking due to touch pressure. At the same time, Apple has also adjusted the cooling system to allow air to flow more efficiently through the hinge area, thereby improving the cooling performance of the entire machine.
Gulman also previously revealed that Apple is studying a future version of the iPhone Duo equipped with a larger internal display. The internal screen size of the new phone after unfolding is expected to be approximately 7.9 inches to 8.1 inches, which is further expanded compared to the 7.6 inches of the current product. However, there is currently no further information on whether the hinge improvements mentioned by Fixed Focus Digital are directly related to this larger folding screen design.
In addition to the hinge upgrade, the new MacBook Pro will use dual-layer OLED display technology and will be accompanied by a significant price increase. Gurman previously reported that Apple has internally discussed raising the starting price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro equipped with the M5 Pro chip to US$2,899, while the current starting price of the corresponding configuration model is US$2,499.
According to previous reports, the new generation of redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro are expected to be officially released on the same day. Apple will also hold a media experience event called "Pro and Tell" in Los Angeles, at which time the complete specifications and price information of the new products are also expected to be announced.
