Abstract:
Dyson announced its entry into the oral care field, launching CameraJet, the first electric toothbrush equipped with a camera and capable of automatically cleaning between teeth. The product sells for $499, is available in ceramic blue and ceramic pink, and will be available on September 1.

CameraJet installs a camera under the brush head. Users can transmit real-time images of the inside of the oral cavity to smart devices such as mobile phones through Wi-Fi to observe the condition of teeth. The camera will also work with an artificial intelligence algorithm to identify the gaps between teeth, and automatically spray mouthwash to these locations during brushing to help clean the gaps between teeth.

The toothbrush has a built-in micro camera of approximately 100,000 pixels and a strobe light. Dyson said that its "gap optical positioning" function analyzes 28 real-time images captured by the camera every second, and the relevant images will not be stored in the device or sent to the cloud.
When the system detects gaps between teeth, CameraJet can spray out a cone-shaped mouthwash stream within 100 milliseconds to rinse the target area. In other words, while the user is brushing their teeth, the toothbrush can simultaneously complete part of the cleaning work between the teeth.

CameraJet is not cheap, but its price is only slightly higher than other high-end smart toothbrushes without cameras and jet systems. This feature may be attractive to people who find it difficult to floss consistently and don’t want to be reminded by the dentist for not cleaning properly.
