ELECOM launches 8-in-1 USB-C docking station with knob and four shortcut keys

📅 2026-10-08

Abstract:

Japanese peripheral equipment manufacturer ELECOM has launched a desktop docking station model DST-L080BPBK, which combines traditional interface expansion with a shortcut controller. The top of the fuselage is equipped with a knob and four customizable buttons, which can be assigned shortcut keys, text input, camera switch, volume adjustment and other operations through the free ELECOM Mouse Assistant software, making it convenient to quickly call frequently used functions during meetings, video editing, data processing, and digital screen creation.

The docking station provides a USB-C upstream interface, a USB 5Gbps USB-C data interface and two USB 5Gbps USB-A data interfaces; it also has a USB-C PD power supply port, HDMI, SD card slot, microSD card slot, RJ-45 wired network port and 3.5 mm four-section headset interface. HDMI supports up to 3840×2160 resolution and 60Hz refresh rate; the wired network is compatible with 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet. SD and microSD slots support corresponding SD, SDHC and SDXC cards.

The USB-C PD port can receive up to 100W input, but the docking station itself consumes approximately 10W, so the maximum output to the laptop is 90W; to achieve this power, an additional 100W power adapter is required, and the AC power adapter is not included in the package. The device also needs to be connected to a video output USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode, and the input signal needs to support DisplayPort 1.4 to achieve 4K/60Hz output. The three data interfaces are all USB 5Gbps specifications, and the docking station comes with a cable of about 30 cm.

The product dimensions are approximately 74×87×59 mm and weighs approximately 250 grams. It is available in black version and supports Windows 10/11 and macOS Tahoe 26. ELECOM's official product page currently lists a tax-included price of 13,728 yen; the company's new product release also lists a store reference price of 10,980 yen including tax, so the actual price may vary depending on sales channels. The product is launched for the Japanese market, and the manufacturer has not yet announced launch arrangements for other regions.
