Abstract:
Player FullExtraction used custom firmware to run 1993's "Doom" on a Fellow Espresso Series 1 coffee machine. The game screen is displayed on the machine's small round screen. The running effect in the public video is smoother and the frame rate is relatively stable.

The modification also makes use of the coffee machine's original physical control parts: the brew button is responsible for moving forward, the steam button is used for shooting, and the wheel controls the character to turn left or right. When unmodified, this screen is used to select drinks such as Americano, cappuccino or espresso, while displaying the preparation steps and extraction time.
This is not the first time that "Doom" has been released on unconventional devices. There have been games running on Anker smart charging stations before, and the device did not require hardware modification; other cases include a modified pregnancy test stick and a version that runs inside "Fortnite".
The new game in the series "Doom: Dark Ages" was launched in May 2025, and received the expansion content of "Doom: Dark Ages - Revelation" in the same year. However, these series dynamics are not directly technically related to coffee machine modifications. What is currently displayed is only personal results in a customized firmware environment, and does not mean that the coffee machine comes with built-in games or has official game support.
