Abstract:
Rockstar Games has recently updated the official announcement and support page of "Grand Theft Auto 6" (GTA 6), opening the pre-loading time for the digital version of the game two days ahead of schedule. According to the latest arrangement, players who have completed digital pre-orders can start downloading the game from November 10, while the previously officially announced pre-load date in June this year was November 12. The official release date of the game remains unchanged on November 19th.

There are differences in the preload activation time between different platforms. The PlayStation 5 platform will unlock the preload function at midnight local time according to the player's time zone; Xbox Series X|S will use a unified global unlock time, which is 0:00 a.m. GMT on November 10. For players in North America, this means pre-loading will open on November 9th at 7pm ET or 4pm ET.
At the same time, Rockstar has also officially confirmed for the first time the storage space required for the game. Officials say the preload process requires "up to 212GB of available storage, depending on the device used." This number is slightly higher than the approximately 210GB capacity information previously discovered by data miners from the PlayStation Store backend, and also confirms the accuracy of previously leaked data.
Due to the official emphasis on “depending on the device”, it is generally believed that there may be some differences in the size of the installation packages for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. However, Rockstar has not yet announced the specific capacity data corresponding to each platform.
For a launch PlayStation 5 owner, this capacity is quite impressive. Considering that the actual available storage space of the console is about 667GB, the game "GTA 6" alone may occupy nearly one-third of the storage space, so players may need to clear the console hard drive in advance to free up enough space.

It is worth noting that it has been previously confirmed that the physical version of "GTA 6" will not come with a game disc, but will be sold in the form of a download redemption code provided in the box. Therefore, players will ultimately need to download the same data files regardless of purchasing the digital or physical version. Currently, the release and delivery plan for the physical version remains unchanged on November 12.
Also, there is still no official confirmation from Rockstar about the PC version. There were previous rumors that the PC version of "GTA 6" is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2027, but so far no official plans have been announced.
As the pre-load date approaches, console players who plan to enter Vice City on the first day of release to adventure may need to check their remaining storage space as soon as possible to prepare for this unprecedentedly large game.
