Huang Renxun was summoned by the U.S. Congress and the three committees jointly launched an attack: He must give a clear explanation on November 18

📅 2026-11-06

Abstract:

The chairs of three important committees of the U.S. House of Representatives jointly sent a letter to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on November 5, local time, requesting him to attend a joint closed-door briefing to explain export compliance and related safety regulations.

The letter was signed by the chairmen of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, the Special Committee on U.S.-China Strategic Competition, and the Intelligence Committee. The letter asked Jen-Hsun Huang to explain his interactions with Huang Le, a former executive of Singapore data center company Megaspeed, as well as Nvidia's internal security mechanism to prevent technology leakage.

Congress requires Huang to attend the briefing on November 18 and must confirm his attendance before November 11.

The three chairmen said in the letter that the reports raise significant national security concerns and Congress needs to identify the risks.

The trigger for this incident was that U.S. intelligence agencies had security concerns about Megaspeed and related personnel, and suspected that the company might help circumvent export restrictions and obtain advanced AI chips.

In response to relevant rumors, Huang Renxun has previously made clarifications. He said that interactions with customers are completely normal.

Nvidia has also conducted a comprehensive verification of the GPUs delivered to the company and confirmed that no chips have been illegally transferred.

This joint action by the three major committees marks a further escalation in the United States' review of Nvidia's chip flow and executive dealings. The focus is extending from the company's business level to the executive's personal network.
