DXOMARK stated that

In terms of portraits, the iPhone 18 Pro has improved contrast and skin tone restoration compared to the previous generation; it can also retain more details in low-light environments and achieve a better balance between texture and noise control.
Video is one of the most outstanding projects of iPhone 18 Pro this time.
DXOMARK said that its video anti-shake effect is excellent, and even when shooting while running, the picture can still remain smooth and natural.
At the same time, the texture and noise in the video are better controlled, and the switching between different zoom focal lengths is smoother.
Of course, the iPhone 18 Pro is not without its shortcomings.
In some high-contrast scenes,
the picture may still have highlight overflow; the long-distance telephoto performance is also slightly inferior to some flagship competitors.
During video recording, there is still room for improvement in white balance stability, and obvious changes may occasionally occur in different lighting environments.
Compared with the previous generation iPhone 17 Pro, the main camera of iPhone 18 Pro has a variable aperture this time, which can achieve a wider range of clarity in group photos and complex scenes.
In addition, the new phone has also adjusted its texture processing strategy to retain more details. Compared with some competing products, the iPhone 18 Pro has fewer perceptible traces of AI processing in the screen, and glare control has also been improved.
